The Harley-Davidson did start to became famous when William Harley and Arthur Davidson produced last 1903 the first development of motorcycle. The motobike that was built was a racing bike. When Harley-Davidson won the first race last 1905, they hired their first employee. Three years later, in 1908, Harley-Davidson sold the first motorcycle to be utilized in police service to the Detroit Police Department. In 1912 H-D started establishing it’s 6 story factory and exports it’s first bikes to Japan, the first time sales were extended outside of the United States.
H-D became more popular in 1914 and was labeled as “The Wrecking Crew” when formally signed up with the national racing circuit. Harley-Davidson then started to sell their motorcycles to the Military in 1917.
In 1918, half of the bikes were shipped to Germany and became the military service in World War. It was Corporal Roy Holts, the first soldier that used the H-D motorcycle. The motocycle company became more fruitful in 1920 with 2,000 dealers in 67 countries in the whole world.
1931 is the year that almost all of Harley’s competitors are gone, with the exception of the Indian Motorcycle Company. These two companies were the only remaining motocrycle companies in United States until 1953.
As being the world goes in into World War 2, so does Harley return back into Military motorcycle construction, and the service school is transformed directly into the military motorcycle service school, also known as the Quartermaster School for military mechanics. The Harley-Davidson Motorcycle were hardly ever reached out by the public during this time.
